Biographies

Ann Marie Aguilar

Vice President EMEA, International WELL Building Institute

Ann Marie Aguilar joined the IWBI team in 2016, and from a base in London oversees the day-to-day activities of IWBI across the EMEA region. She supports the business development and technical teams and is the first point of contact for clients and design teams interested in all applications of WELL Certification.
Ann Marie’s role is to support “early adopters” of the WELL Building Standard, by facilitating communication with IWBI technical experts to provide international translation, alternative adherence pathways and alignment with European sustainability rating tools. Ann Marie’s expertise in environmental sustainability and well-being has helped deliver strategic adoption of WELL into the UK, Ireland, continental Europe and the Middle East with support from BRE, Green Building Councils and other local market partners. She is also responsible for implementing new directives for research, growth, recruitment and education.
She brings to IWBI a technical background in sustainability consulting, having worked for 11 years with Arup Associates, the architectural consulting arm of Arup in their London offices. Her 17 years of global project experience range in scale from campus size to small city developments and identify a clear sustainability vision, objectives and measurable targets. She has extensive experience in LEED Certification, material deconstruction and material reuse processes. Whilst there she developed Arup’s health and well-being consultancy offering across their global operations. Previously, Ann Marie led her own sustainability consulting business in New York City.
Among the first cohort of WELL APs, she now also provides education and support to industry as a WELL Faculty member.
She earned her bachelor's degree in architecture from the New York Institute of Technology and received Chartered Environmentalist status in 2012. She is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts, member of the Sustainability Futures Group at the RIBA and a member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment.

Ahmed Al-Hammadi

Chief Investment Officer Europe, Qatar Investment Authority

Ahmed Al-Hammadi is the Chief Investment Officer for Europe, Russia and Turkey. He oversees Qatar Investment Authority’s direct sector teams’ investments in Europe, Russia and Turkey. Prior to joining QIA, Al-Hammadi worked at EFG-Hermes as a regional asset manager and before that at consulting firm Booz & Co. advising financial services clients on strategy, private equity investment opportunities, and organization structures. Al-Hammadi sits on the boards of Heathrow Airport, SoFi, Borsa Istanbul and Pavillion Real Estate Investment Trust. He was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2019. Ahmed Al-Hammadi is a graduate of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and has obtained his MBA from the Harvard Business School.

Roun Barry

CEO, ARA Dunedin Ltd

Roun founded Dunedin Property in 1996 and is the Chief Executive Officer of ARA Dunedin, taking primary responsibility for corporate finance, deal structuring and managing commercial relationships, in addition to managing acquisitions and investment strategy.
Roun has over 30 years of direct real estate experience; before founding Dunedin, Roun spent 4 years with ING Real Estate where he was responsible for managing the UK portfolio.
Prior to ING Real Estate, he was a Partner at Jones Lang LaSalle where he was responsible for West End Investment and development for more than 5 years.
Roun trained as a lawer but has spent his entire career in real estate investment and asset management.

Gabriele Bonfiglioli

Chief Investment Officer, COIMA

Graduated in Business Administration at the University of Rome, he studied Real Estate Finance at the University of Amsterdam, UVA. Bonfiglioli is currently Key Manager, responsible for Investment Management at COIMA RES (since 2015) and Chief Investment Officer, Investment & Capital Markets of COIMA SGR. Bonfiglioli worked in the Beni Stabili Group SGR, and was actively involved during the raising phase of the first mixed contribution and blind pool capital Italian fund for international investors. Bonfiglioli was a member of the Hines group of Investment and Performance Global Committee until 2014. With more than 15 years of experience in the real estate sector, Bonfiglioli has followed transactions worth more than three billion Euros. During his career, he has negotiated rental contracts for over 100,000 square metres and loans for more than one billion Euros.

Méka Brunel

Vice President, Fondation Palladio

Méka Brunel is a business leader in the real estate industry. She is an ETP engineer and FRICS and has an Executive MBA from HEC. From 1996, she held a range of management positions at Simco, which later merged with Gecina. In 2006, she became Chief Executive Officer of Eurosic, before joining Ivanhoé Cambridge in 2009 as Executive President Europe. She has been a Director at Gecina since 2014 and was appointed as its Chief Executive Officer in January 2017. Fully involved in both community life and industry associations, particularly as Honorary President of the HQE-France GBC association, ViceChairwoman of the Palladio Foundation, Chair & Director of EPRA, Director of FSIF, Méka Brunel was also President of the Greater Paris Metropolitan Authority’s Development Board from 2017 to 2021. Méka Brunel has been honored with the title of Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur. Lastly, Méka Brunel was named Professional of the Year in the 2013 and Pierres d’Or awards in 2018.

Mario Calderini

Full Professor, Politecnico di Milano, School of Management

Mario Calderini is a full Professor at Politecnico di Milano’s Graduate School of Management, where he teaches Management for Sustainability and Impact. In addition, he is the Director of Tiresia, the School of Management’s Research Centre for Impact Finance and Innovation. He was recently nominated in the Apolitical’s World’s 100 most influential academics in government list.
He is the cabinet advisor to the Minister of Innovation Vittorio Colao.
He served as senior advisor to several Ministers of University Research and Innovation and Government’s Sherpa for the G7 Italian Presidency 2017.
His numerous publications in highly ranked international journals cover several topics in the field of innovation and impact finance. He has been a member of the G8 Task Force for Social Impact Investment. He has been part of the Government’s Advisory Group that drafted the new law on social entrepreneurship. He is the President of the Advisory Board for Research and Innovation Strategy of the Lombardy Region Government. He sits on the Advisory Board of Unicredit Group.

Kelly Russell Catella

Head Of Sustainability & Communication, COIMA SGR

Born in 1976 in Columbus, Georgia, married with 5 children, Kelly Russell Catella is Head of Sustainability & Communication and Chairman of the Sustainable Innovation Committee of COIMA SGR. Prior to her current role, she held the position of Communication, CSR and Marketing Director at Hines Italia SGR and gained experience managing strategic communication, public relations and community engagement of the major Porta Nuova urban regeneration project in the center of Milan.
Kelly Russell Catella is also General Manager of the Riccardo Catella Foundation, founded in 2005 to promote best practices in the sustainable territorial development, with particular attention giving to social inclusion in our cities and the global fight against climate change. Thanks to an innovative public-private collaboration with the Municipality of Milan, since 2019 the Foundation is responsible for the maintenance and security of BAM (Biblioteca degli Alberi Milano), the third urban public park in the city, and offering a cultural program open to all citizens. Before the positions cited above, Kelly Russell Catella was regional coordinator for Urban Land Institute in Italy.

Manfredi Catella

Founder & CEO, COIMA

Manfredi Catella is graduated in Economics from Cattolica university in Milan and holds a Regional Planning and Real Estate master from the Polytechnic university of Turin. Catella is COIMA REM shareholder and CEO, and COIMA RES founding shareholder and CEO. He is chairman of the COIMA REM real estate company, founded in 1974. Manfredi Catella was responsible for the Italian business of the US group Hines and worked for JP Morgan in Milan, Caisse Centrale des Banques Populaires in Paris, Heitman in Chicago and HSBC in Paris. He is currently President of the Fondazione Riccardo Catella and is a member of the Bocconi University and Assolombarda Advisory Board. He is a chartered financial analyst, a member of the Italian Journalist Association (freelance) and the author of many articles and texts on real estate and regional requalification.

Valerio De Molli

Managing Partner & CEO, The European House – Ambrosetti

Valerio De Molli has been Managing Partner and Chief Executive Officer of The European House - Ambrosetti since 2000. In 2008, he led the management buyout of the company along with other partners, thereby settling with the founder. He is also Director of London’s Ambrosetti Group Limited, Chairman of The European House - Ambrosetti Middle East, Senior Advisor of the Venture Capital Fund United Ventures, and Mentor of the Kairos Society, an association of young American entrepreneurs. He has been a member of YPO (Young Presidents’ Organization) since 2011. He is a member of the Boards of Directors of numerous companies. He gives lectures and seminars on strategy and management for top executives, associations, and universities. He is the author of Towards Excellence. Boards of Directors: A Tool for an Effective System of Corporate Governance. Proposals and Recommendations, published by Sperling & Kupfer in May 2005, and The Fundamentals of Strategic Management - Paradigms of the Corporate System, published by IPSOA in January 2009. He founded and continues to chair important Think Tanks including Observatory on Europe in Brussels, Observatory on the Excellence of Corporate Governance in Italy, Meridiano Sanità, and Cashless Society, among others.

Stefano Distilli

President, Cassa Dottori Commercialisti

Stefano Distilli has been Chairman of the Italian Welfare Fund of Chartered Accountants (Cassa Dottori Commercialisti) since December 2020, previously he coordinated the Securities Investment Commission as a member of the Board of Directors. Is a member of the Executive Board of ADEPP the Association of Casse di Previdenza Private.
He is a Chartered Accountant and an expert on financial, social security and welfare issues. He has published numerous articles and papers on the subject and speaks at conferences and seminars.
He coordinated and managed the project for the development of the territorial Pension Funds of Regione Autonoma Valle d'Aosta and taught at UNIVDA in the field of social security.
He has held and continues to hold numerous positions as member of the board and auditor in companies and institutions, particularly in the financial and social security fields.

Kay Killmann

Managing Director Europe, Green Building Council Institute

Kay Killmann is the managing director of GBCI Europe, the premier sustainability certification and credentialing organization for real estate in the region. Mr. Killmann has two decades of international experience as a consulting architect and nonprofit leader and is the co-founder of the German Green Building Association GGBA. He advocates for sustainable benchmarking and performance monitoring using programs like LEED and technology platforms like Arc.

Valter Militi

President, Cassa Forense

Mr. Valter Militi, born in Catania on October 17th 1963, is an Italianattorney admitted to the Italian Bar (Section of Messina) and topractice before the Italian Supreme Court (Corte di Cassazione).He is an expert in criminal law and criminal procedure and was amember of the “Nordio” Commission within the Italian Ministry ofJustice in the year 2002 for the reform of the Italian Penal Code.He acted as a speaker in numerous meeting and conferences in Italyconcerning criminal law and procedure, corporate law, environmentlaw and social security for legal professions.He is President of Cassa Nazionale di Previdenza e AssistenzaForense (“Cassa Forense”) since April 2021, after having held theposition of director (Consigliere di Amministrazione) for 10 years (VicePresident since 2014). He is also a member of the InvestmentCommittee of Cassa Forense, taking an active role in the resolution ofthe investments.He is a member of the Board of Directors of a major fundmanagement company and of several fund advisory boards.

Alberto Oliveti

President, Fondazione ENPAM - President, AdEPP

Alberto Oliveti, born in Rome on the 2nd of August 1953, graduated in medicine in 1980 in Ancona, and later specialised in Paediatrics. Since 2012 he has been the chairman of Enpam, the Italian first-pillar pension fund for physicians and dental surgeons, after having served for a long time as board member and deputy chairman. Under his leadership, Enpam has implemented an asset management reform, a pension reform and a change of its internal regulation. Oliveti’s pension reform has ensured long-term sustainability, proven over a 50-year time frame.
Today Enpam has 373,400 active members, 143,000 pensioners, and assets of approx. 25 billion euros.
On the 16th of December 2015 Oliveti was also elected chairman of Adepp, the association representing all the Italian private first-pillar pension funds. His working plan in leading the association is summarised in the acronym Wise: Welfare, Investments, Services, Europe.

Mariangela Pira

Journalist, Sky Tg24

With a career that began at Ansa in New York and a long experience in China - from which she collaborates with MF, also writing for Panorama, l'Espresso, Il Vaticano di Repubblica - back in Italy she works as head of the China Desk of Class Editori, where she conducts in-depth analyzes on the financial markets for Class Cnbc and curates the windows on the Stock Exchange and markets for Tg5 and for the Tg of La7. In collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, she leads the Italian diplomacy newsletter Esteri NewsDossier, which takes her to travel to many countries where the Italian Development Cooperation is present including Afghanistan, Lebanon, Iraq, Israel and Palestine. You still continue to deal with cooperation with Terre des Hommes, an NGO for which you specifically follow the issue of the condition of women and education. Among her most recent books Fozza China (Baldini & Castoldi, 2017), Cronaca di un unannounced disaster and Annozero AD, both published by Chiarelettere in 2020. Among the prizes awarded to her: the Amerigo Prize, the Globe for Journalism in 'scope of the International Festival of Travel Literature and the International Good Practices Award, received by the European Parliament and News Reminder. On her Linkedin she takes care of the # 3factors column, with which in the morning she explains in simple language the elements that will characterize the financial, economic and geopolitical day. From her # 3factors a daily Podcast was born.

Giuseppe Santoro

President, Inarcassa

Giuseppe Santoro graduated in Architecture at the University of Palermo in 1981.He was the founding architect of the Order of Syracuse in 1981. Since 1982 he has been working as freelancer with a studio in Priolo Gargallo focused in particular on public works and environmental consultancy sectors.He holds a University Master of First Level PrevManagement - Economics and Management of Complementary Pensions.Since 2015 he has been Chairman of Inarcassa, the national pension fund for engineers and architects freelancers, and he has been reconfirmed, in July 2020 until 2025.Delegate of the Province of Syracuse, he was Secretary of the Statute Restricted Committee, Secretary of the Congruity Commission, Board Member and Member of the Executive Committee.Vice Chairman of Inarcassa in the five-year period 2010-2015.Chairman of Arpinge until 2016; Chairman of Assodire 2020-2023 and Vice Chairman of Adepp from 2021.

Komal Sri Kumar

President, Sri Kumar Global Strategies, Inc.

Komal Sri-Kumar is President of Sri-Kumar Global Strategies, Inc., a macroeconomic consulting firm based in Santa Monica – California, that he formed in January 2013 to advise multinational firms and sovereign wealth funds on global risk and opportunities. Prior to founding the firm, Sri worked at the Los Angeles-based Trust Company of the West (TCW) from 1990 to 2012, serving for the last several years as the firm’s Chief Global Strategist. From 1997 to 2015 he was the Chairman of TCW’s Comprehensive Asset Allocation Committee. Sri holds an M.A. in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics, and M.Phil and Ph.D. degrees from Columbia University.

Giancarlo Tancredi

Councilor for Urban Regeneration, Milan

Giancarlo Tancredi, born in Milan on 09.16.1961, has a degree in architecture.
He has always been involved in urban planning and design within the Municipality of Milan, with particular expertise on the most important complex urban projects of our city, including the "Porta Nuova" area, the Portello, City Life. Expo 2015 and MIND, the Darsena, the disused railway yards, Santa Giulia and the Stadium area.
The professional experience developed embraces the various issues that are the basis of urban regeneration and the implementation of the Territory Governance Plan.
